  • e-District is a State Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) Government of India.
  • The Project aims to target high volume citizen centric services and to undertake backend computerization to enable the delivery of these services through common service centres at the doorsteps of the citizen along with online Portal.
  • It is aimed at bringing transparency and trustworthiness among the people in delivering services with economically affordable fees.
  • E-District has been envisaged by the GoUP as automation of workflow and internal process of district administration with the possibility of seamless integration of various services covered under the project like Caste, Income, Domicile, Birth/Death certificates, Pension, Khatauni etc.
  • Uttar Pradesh became the first State in the country to roll out e-District pilot project in 6 districts (Sultanpur, Sitapur, Gautam budhnagar, Ghaziabad, Raibareilly, Gorakhpur) of the State on 15th Dec 2008
  • After the successful implementation of pilot e-District project in 6 district GoUP decided to implement e-District state wide roll-out project in all 75 districts of the state and also become the the first State in the country to roll out e-District project in all the 75 District of the State.
  • Presently, 259 Government to Citizen (G2C) services of 35 departments are operational (Go-Live) in 75 districts through e-District Portal.
  • Till date, more than 21.60 Crores applications have been processed through e-District. Number of applications as well as services are increasing day by day.
  • The e-District portals are cloud enabled & hosted at Uttar Pradesh State Data Centre (UPSDC).
  • The portals are functional on Request Processing Model First-in-First-out (FIFO).
  • Looking at the overwhelming response of the citizens, GoUP is in the process of bringing services online under Janhit Guarantee Act, UP and integrating them with e-District portal.
